MAERSK

At your service

The challenge

Maersk has built a fully automated distribution center in Melbourne, Australia, acting as a third-party logistics (3PL) provider for a global fashion brand. This facility ensures quick and accurate order processing throughout the Oceanian region, efficiently handling the brand's warehousing and distribution needs.

The solution

The new distribution center features a sophisticated solution integrating advanced robotics, lifts, 2.5 kilometers of Interroll’s Modular Conveyor Platform (MCP) and 1 kilometer of Modular Pallet Conveyor (MPP) to automate the entire process, from receipt to dispatch of goods. The automated systems are maintained by Interroll’s expert staff to ensure maximum uptime and availability.

About Maersk

Maersk is a global shipping and logistics company providing integrated logistics solutions that connect, protect, and simplify supply chains. The company’s vision is to become the global integrator of choice with scalable warehousing and distribution services.

“The concept with a fully automated solution is that the product comes in, is probably handled from the container onto pallet, and then literally isn't seen again by an operator or touched by human hands until that product is picked.”
